Sometimes QuickBooks setup and training can be approached simultaneously. All training is fully customizable. For newbies, here’s our usual approach.
Generally we start by introducing QuickBooks’ customer billing features, like creating invoices. It helps to start training with a process folks understand well, like who owes them money and why. Training with actual company data keeps things relevant. All of which smooths over any minor anxiety about learning new software.

Once we enter a few customer invoices, we take a look at the QuickBooks’ Accounts Receivable reports. Folks generally relax at this point, as the user-friendly interface and power of the reports becomes obvious.
Introducing the flip side of QuickBooks, the Vendor Center and Accounts Payable, is usually a snap. Because the interface and reports are so similar to the Customer components. And of course, folks understand about paying vendors; they just have to see how QuickBooks handles this common task.
Next we show how QuickBooks internal documentation works by examining some issue that came up in the Customer and Vendor training. Then we introduce the sample companies that come packaged with QuickBooks. For folks so inclined, exploring these sample companies, usually by just wandering around a bit through them once we leave, quickly expands their overall understanding of QuickBooks.
Of course, QuickBooks training can be highly customized. Often, company specific tasks need addressing.
